Curve “Boost” Single Board Bag
This board bag saved two people’s lives in the last week! I shit you not. I have a prized 6’3” swallow tail in my quiver at the moment, a rare gem of a board, and it’s been my all-rounder for months now. I heart it. Last week I moved house so I trusted the Boost single boardbag from Curve Surf to protect my baby. With its massive padded 20mm nose and tail foam zones, 7mm foam core and Curves’ Tail Protection Strap System (TPSS) it’s like a daybag on steroids! In the ensuing move a friend dropped it from the roof of her car on to its tail – on concrete. Then my girlfriend’s dad smashed the nose of it between the door and wall of the house. I swore under my breath and before unleashing all fury I pulled it out of the bag to show them what they had done to my precious. But it was sweet! I laughed maniacally and they looked at me curiously, not knowing how close they had both come to an untimely death. Thank you Curve for making the Boost! Check out www.curvesurf.com

RPM boardies and Ts.
The crew at RPM flowed some of the new threads from their 2010 summer range due in stores now.
With awesome graphics, the Tiki Tour Boardies ($89.90) fitted like a glove, and are my new favourite pair for surfing this coming summer.
With the iconic pictures of Kiwiland all over them it’s like doing a road trip all over the country while surfing down the road from home.
From the same collection comes the Tiki Tour Tee ($59.90) and its prints of the homeland too!
I was stoked on this tee and wore it when I caught up with one of my Kiwi mates who was visiting from Western Oz.
He must have liked it too because days after he left and headed back to Roo-land he txt me to say he’d “borrowed” it and the Aussie chicks loved it.
Bastard.
But you don’t have to steal one, just log on to www.rpm.co.nz and it’s all yours.

SITKA apparel
Our brothers from other mothers over in Canada have known about this label and their sweet threads for years now – since it was founded by two mates shaping boards in a seedy garage in the Canadian woods back in 2002 – actually. The Sitka Spruce is a tree naturally drawn to the rugged shorelines of Western Canada and this is where the lads lived, surfed and shaped. With a range of surfboards, skateboards and clothing the seeds of growth for Sitka have been spread far and wide over the years. Check out www.sitkasurfboards.com or look up Sitka New Zealand on Facebook and watch this space! Lay the seed, give it water, waves and sunshine, then allow it to grow organically into the strongest brand tree in a forest of weeds . . .

Skull Candy wireless head phones
There’s nothing more annoying than going about your domestic chores, or just swaying your head vigorously from side to side while rocking out and the cord from your head phones to your MP3 player catches on a foreign object or stray arm and whammo, your sound is disconnected mid-bitching guitar solo. Or worse still, your player goes flying. I once lost my iPod shuffle for a year under my workbench due to that very scenario, I shit you not. With the double Agent from Skull Candy, you’ll never run that risk again. Double Agents come with a 1GB memory card (enough for 200 songs). Simply plug the headphones into your computer, through the supplied USB cable, and drag the songs on you want off your hard drive and away you go. They take 1½ hours to charge, and that will give you eight hours of music. They also come with an external cable if you wanna go old school and plug in.

Sanuk Donny Blue RRP: $106.95
I’m a lazy man. My wife often tells me this. Wear underpants? – fuck that. Put the toilet seat up. Why bother? Empty the dishwasher? Maybe tomorrow. I feel the same way about tying and untying shoelaces. Why worry about it when you can squash down the heel and simply squish your toes in – admittedly it does screw over the shoes and make you walk like a numb-nut. Coming to the rescue are the Donny Blues from Sanuk, the saviour of lazy shoe wearers everywhere.
Nice and light and easy to put on and featuring a shoe upper on a sandal bottom, they combine the year-round style and protection of a shoe with the natural comfort of a sandal. This sandal-shoe hybrid allows your foot to bend and flex the way nature designed you to walk. The loose upper allows your foot to spread so it can absorb shock naturally. This strengthens the small muscles that support your arch and encourages you to walk correctly.
Both stylish and functional – can’t ask for more really.

MacBeth Wallister
Shoes, it has been so long since I’ve worn the damn things. My garage floor is littered with high tops like I’m a wanna be basketball player/skater, so imagine my delight when these low-cut Wallisters from MacBeth slipped on my feet.
MacBeth was founded by Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 in 2003 . These day MacBeth have big-named rock star like Mike Dirnt from Green Day and arh … Sara and Tegan.
Wallisters feature a canvas upper, sick side stitch detailing, printed, padded footbed, rubber toe cap and rubber outsole for grip. “An awesome new design that’s vegan friendly”. Not that it put off a meat-head like me strutting about in them.
